Dr. hab. Alicja Gałczyńska is a linguist and professor at the Institute of Literary Studies and Linguistics at Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce.
She serves as the Vice-Director for Education at the Institute of Literary Studies and Linguistics at UJK and is a member of the Committee on Polish Language Proficiency and the University Committee for Education. She also served as the Chair of the Faculty Committee for Quality of Education from 2013 to 2018. She was involved in the execution of the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education grant, conducting analyses and syntheses of procedures related to the third cycle of education (doctoral studies/doctoral schools) in partner countries such as Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Armenia, and Ukraine. She is an expert for the National Centre for Research and Development.
Her research focuses on language communication, contemporary Polish language (language varieties, vocabulary, language ethics, linguistic politeness), language in modern media, Polish culture of complaining, and historical and contemporary feminatives. She has authored two monographs (Akty odmowy we współczesnym języku polskim, Kielce 2003; Od oswajania świata do jego współtworzenia. Akty nakłaniające w kontaktach dorosłych z dziećmi, Kielce 2014) and numerous scientific articles. She has extensive experience in quality management in education.
