Implementation Doctorate
Projects financed from the state budget
The Implementation Doctorate is a programme of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education that combines doctoral education with research carried out in cooperation with an enterprise or another socio-economic partner.
The programme aims to strengthen collaboration between universities and external organisations by supporting research projects with practical implementation potential.
A doctoral student pursues research at the Doctoral School while being employed or planned to be employed full-time by a cooperating entity. The research is conducted under the supervision of an academic supervisor at Jan Kochanowski University and in cooperation with a mentor appointed by the employing organisation.
Programme Modules
The programme consists of two modules:
- Implementation Doctorate I – for research projects whose results may be applied in the activities of the employing entity.
- Implementation Doctorate II – Artificial Intelligence – for research projects focused on the application of artificial intelligence in technological or social processes, including cybersecurity.
Who can apply?
The programme is intended for candidates who:
- hold a Master’s degree or an equivalent qualification;
- meet the admission requirements of the Doctoral School;
- are or will be employed full-time by a cooperating organisation;
- plan to conduct research with practical implementation potential.
The maximum duration of doctoral education within the programme is 4 years.
Funding
The programme provides funding for:
- doctoral scholarships,
- social insurance contributions,
- co-financing of research infrastructure necessary for conducting doctoral research.
Recruitment
Admission to the Implementation Doctorate follows the recruitment procedure of the Doctoral School.
For the academic year 2026/2027, the recruitment schedule is as follows:
- 1–4 September 2026 – online registration
- by 7 September 2026 – submission of documents
- 10–11 September 2026 – qualification interviews
- 14 September 2026 – announcement of results
