Among other provisions, the Journal of Laws includes:
Chapter 2 – Doctoral Degree
- Section 1 – Proceedings for the conferment of the doctoral degree
Provisions regarding the rules for initiating, conducting, and completing proceedings for awarding the doctoral degree. It specifies requirements for the doctoral dissertation, the composition of the doctoral committee, the defense procedure, and the decision-making process on awarding the degree. - Section 2 – Doctoral Education
Regulates the admission rules to doctoral schools, the course of education, doctoral candidates’ obligations, and the conditions for implementing the education program and conducting scientific research.
Chapter 3a – Special Rules for Granting Authorizations
Specifies the procedures for granting universities and scientific institutes the authorization to confer the doctoral and habilitated doctor degrees, including formal requirements and evaluation criteria.

- Chapter 1 – General Principles of Disciplinary Responsibility
Defines the general legal framework of disciplinary responsibility within the higher education system, including the competencies of the rector and disciplinary committees. - Chapter 3 – Doctoral Candidates
Describes the grounds for disciplinary responsibility, the procedure, the catalogue of penalties, and the authorities responsible for disciplinary proceedings concerning doctoral candidates, taking into account their specific academic and legal status.
