SCIENTIFIC INTERNSHIPS
DOMESTIC AND FOREIGN INTERNSHIP
This Regulation No. 2/2025 of the Director of the Doctoral School at Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce governs the principles of undertaking scientific internships both domestically and abroad, which constitute an integral part of the doctoral training program. The purpose of the internships is to develop research competencies, exchange experiences, and establish scientific cooperation with national and international academic centers.
The document defines the procedures related to applying for internship placements, the execution of the internships, and the reporting obligations of doctoral candidates. The annexes include templates of the necessary forms, enabling proper documentation of completed internships.

Ordinance No. 2/2025
of the Director of the Doctoral School of Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce
dated July 1, 2025
on the rules for undertaking internships as part of education at the Doctoral School
of Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce
Pursuant to § 184(6) of the Statute of Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce and § 2(13)(5) of the Doctoral School Regulations, introduced by Resolution No. 31/2023 of the Senate of Jan Kochanowski University dated April 27, 2023, regarding the adoption of the Doctoral School Regulations at Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce, the following is hereby ordered:
§ 1
GENERAL INFORMATION
1. A doctoral student of the Doctoral School is required to complete a scientific or artistic internship during the course of their education, in accordance with the applicable education program.
2. A scientific internship is understood as an internship undertaken for the purpose of conducting scientific research or acquiring knowledge and skills related to conducting scientific research or artistic activity, under the terms specified in this ordinance.
3. A doctoral student may carry out the scientific internship at any time during the entire course of their education.
4. The duration of the internship is specified in the education program.
5. The internship may be carried out at:
1) scientific research units;
2) archives, scientific libraries;
3) universities;
4) cultural institutions;
5) other units conducting scientific research.
6. The internship may be carried out through:
1) conducting scientific research in cooperation with scientific research units or cultural institutions;
2) conducting or participating in laboratory research;
3) obtaining library or archival materials for scientific work;
4) artistic activity.
7. Failure to complete or settle the internship may be considered a violation of the doctoral student’s obligations, with consequences resulting from the Regulations.
8. A doctoral student of the Doctoral School undertaking a scientific internship is required to affiliate the scientific work resulting from the internship to Jan Kochanowski University.
9. The costs of the internship—travel, per diem, accommodation—may be covered, in particular, from funds originating from:
1) scientific projects funded, for example, by NCN, NCBR, NAWA;
2) university scientific projects;
3) academic exchange programs.
§ 2
DOMESTIC INTERNSHIP
1. A doctoral student is required to submit to the Director of the Doctoral School an application for assignment to a domestic scientific internship, constituting Annex No. 1 to this ordinance, endorsed by the supervisor and the head of the relevant section, no later than 2 months before the planned start date.
2. The application referred to in paragraph 1 must be accompanied by the consent of the representative of the entity where the internship will be carried out.
3. Immediately after completing the internship – i.e., within 14 days of the return date – the doctoral student shall submit to the Director of the Doctoral School:
1) a report on the scientific internship according to the template constituting Annex No. 2 to this Ordinance;
2) documents confirming the expenditure of funds as well as documents specified in the legal acts applicable at Jan Kochanowski University regarding domestic and international travel of employees and doctoral students.
§ 3
INTERNATIONAL INTERNSHIP
1. In the case of going on an international internship, the rules specified in the legal acts applicable at Jan Kochanowski University regarding the international travel of doctoral students shall apply.
2. The application referred to in item 1 must be accompanied by the consent of the representative of the entity where the internship will be carried out.
3. The doctoral student is required to register the trip in the Odyseusz system at: https://odyseusz.msz.gov.pl/
1) a report on the scientific internship according to the template constituting Annex No. 2 to this Ordinance;
2) documents confirming the expenditure of funds as well as documents specified in the legal acts applicable at Jan Kochanowski University regarding domestic and international travel of employees and doctoral students.
§ 4
Ordinance No. 3/2021 of the Director of the Doctoral School of Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce dated December 16, 2021, on the rules for undertaking internships as part of education at the Doctoral School of Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce, amended by Ordinance No. 4/2022 of the Director of the Doctoral School of Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce dated October 27, 2022, and Ordinance No. 4/2024 of the Director of the Doctoral School of Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce dated April 22, 2024, is hereby repealed.
§ 5
The ordinance shall enter into force on the date of its signing.
