  1. Prizes are awarded on the basis of the Regulations.
  2. Prizes are awarded annually for outstanding scientific or artistic achievements.

§3

  1. Prizes are awarded annually by the Rector.
  2. Prizes concern achievements obtained in the previous academic year.
  3. Only achievements that have not previously been awarded a Rector’s prize or a prize of the minister responsible for higher education and science may be considered for the Rector’s prize.

  5. Prizes may be awarded to doctoral students enrolled in the Doctoral School of the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce.
  6. Prizes may not be awarded to persons who have been subject to disciplinary penalties.
  7. In a given academic year, a doctoral student may receive only one individual prize from the Rector or from the minister responsible for higher education and science. Persons whose applications for the minister’s prize have been submitted to the ministry but who did not receive that prize may be nominated for the Rector’s prize for achievements in the given academic year. For this purpose, an application must be submitted in accordance with the procedure specified in these Regulations.

§4

  1. Prizes are awarded obligatorily in the case specified in paragraph 2 or through an application procedure.
  2. The Rector’s prize is awarded to a doctoral student appointed as a project leader or task package coordinator in a project involving scientific research or development work, financed competitively by foreign institutions or international organizations, as well as by the National Science Centre, the National Centre for Research and Development, the Foundation for Polish Science, under the National Programme for the Development of the Humanities, or projects co-financed competitively by the National Agency for Academic Exchange or the National Science Centre.
  3. Prizes awarded through the application procedure are granted in particular for original and creative scientific or artistic achievements documented by:
    1. scientific articles published in academic journals and in peer-reviewed proceedings of international scientific conferences included in the list of such journals and proceedings compiled in accordance with the regulations issued pursuant to Article 267(2)(2) of the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (hereinafter referred to as the “Act”);

    3. patents for inventions, protection rights for utility models, and exclusive breeders’ rights to plant varieties;

    4. results of artistic activity that have a significant impact on the development of the discipline.

  4. In the event of changes to the regulations issued pursuant to Article 267(2)(2) of the Act during the academic year, the number of points is determined according to the regulations in force on the date of publication of the article or monograph.
