The first graduate of the Doctoral School has already become a doctor
11 October 2023 Barbara Maj-MalinowskaOn September 18, 2023, Mr. Tomasz Sikorski successfully defended his doctoral thesis in the field of medical and health sciences.
His advisor was Prof. Marek Żak from UJK, and the doctoral dissertation itself was titled “Assessing the Impact of Dual-Task Training and Virtual Reality (VR) on the Functional Capacity of Elderly Individuals.” The inspiration for conducting this research stemmed from the desire to find solutions that would enable the preservation of functional capacity in the face of the inevitable and progressive aging process in the human body.
Throughout his education, Mr. Tomasz Sikorski enhanced his competencies by implementing projects that utilized cutting-edge technologies and their effects on the functional capacity of the elderly. The doctoral candidate also participated in the “OKNO NA ŚWIAT” project, an integrated program at UJK in Kielce aimed at the development of the Świętokrzyskie region. Thanks to the funding received, he had the opportunity to expand his knowledge and practical skills, including two international internships at the Université Clermont Auvergne in France.
On September 25, 2023, the Scientific Council of the Institute of Health Sciences at the Collegium Medicum of Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce conferred the doctoral degree upon Tomasz Sikorski.
