We are pleased to inform you that another recruitment is underway for the scholarship programs of the Polish-American Fulbright Commission for trips to the USA: Junior Research Award 2025-26, Fulbright Research Award at Stanford University School of Medicine 2025-26, Graduate Student Award 2025-26, Senior Award 2025-26, and STEM Impact Award 2024-25, as well as a new addition (!) – Graduate Student Award LLM in International Human Rights Law at University of Notre Dame 2025-26.

Junior Research Award 2025-26

The Fulbright Junior Research Award 2025-26 is a program for individuals with Polish citizenship preparing a doctoral dissertation in Polish scientific institutions.

The aim of the scholarship, lasting from 4 to 10 months, is to carry out one’s own research project at an American university, non-profit research institute, or non-governmental organization in the USA, related to the topic of the doctoral dissertation being prepared. Applications are accepted from all fields except for projects requiring direct patient contact. As part of the Junior Research Award 2024-25 competition, applications can also be submitted for a 10-month Fulbright Research Award at Stanford University School of Medicine 2024-25. The deadline for applications is September 6th of this year.

Fulbright Research Award at Stanford University School of Medicine 2025-26

The Fulbright Research Award at Stanford University School of Medicine 2025-26 is a program for individuals with Polish citizenship preparing a doctoral dissertation in Polish scientific institutions in the following fields: cell, molecular, or structural biology, biochemistry, biophysics, or related areas, excluding projects requiring direct patient contact. The aim of the scholarship, lasting from 8 to 10 months, is to carry out one’s own research project at Stanford University School of Medicine related to the topic of the doctoral dissertation being prepared. The scholarship is part of the Junior Research Award program and is offered in cooperation with the Rogala Lab. The deadline for applications is September 6th of this year.

Graduate Student Award 2025-26

The Fulbright Graduate Student Award 2025-26 is a program for individuals with Polish citizenship interested in pursuing second or third-degree studies in the USA, providing funding for the first year of study up to $47,000, with the possibility of extension for another year. Applications are accepted for all fields of study except for medical studies requiring direct patient contact, LLM (Master of Laws) programs, and MBA (Master of Business Administration) programs except for the LLM in International Human Rights Law program co-financed by the Commission in cooperation with the University of Notre Dame. Travel is possible to any accredited higher education institution. Applicants must have a Master’s degree by June of the year of departure. The deadline for applications is April 22nd of this year.

Graduate Student Award LLM in International Human Rights Law at University of Notre Dame 2025-26

New! As part of the Graduate Student Award competition, you can apply for a one-year scholarship to study LLM in International Human Rights Law at the University of Notre Dame. Applicants must have a Master’s degree in law and Polish citizenship. The scholarship is offered in cooperation with the Law School of the University of Notre Dame. The program covers topics such as civil and political rights, global racial justice, religious freedom, international criminal law on mass atrocities and authoritarianism, as well as aspects of economic, social, and cultural rights related to the challenges of global poverty, sustainable development, transnational corporate human rights abuses, climate change, and environmental degradation, and many others. The requirements and selection procedure remain the same as for candidates for the Graduate Student Award program. The deadline for applications is April 22nd of this year.

Senior Award 2025-26

The Fulbright Senior Award 2025-26 is a program that allows individuals with Polish citizenship employed in Polish academic and scientific institutions to carry out independent research or research and teaching projects at a host institution in the USA (i.e., an American university, non-profit research institute, or government institution). The scholarship, lasting from 3 to 10 months, is aimed at researchers and educators at all stages of their careers after obtaining a doctoral degree. We accept applications from all fields except for projects requiring direct patient contact. The deadline for applications is June 5th of this year.

STEM Impact Award 2024-25

The Fulbright STEM Impact Award 2024-25 is a program for individuals with Polish citizenship who lead research projects in STEM areas and are employed in Polish academic and scientific institutions. The scholarship allows for the implementation of a short-term (2-6 weeks) research, teaching, or research and teaching project, as well as for expanding knowledge in the areas of science commercialization or effective grant writing in institutions in the USA. The scholarship is intended for researchers with experience in managing research projects and supervising the work of other scientists. The deadline for applications is May 20th of this year.
